Circuvent makes smart-home hardware — switchboards, camera modules and the hub they all talk to — and this role is the firmware inside it. You will start on the parts of a board that are well understood: bringing up a sensor over I2C, getting a peripheral to behave, writing the code that decides what a relay does when the power comes back. Over time, and with somebody sitting next to you for the first few months, you take ownership of a module of your own. This is work where a bug is something you can hear click. A relay that restores to the wrong state after a power cut is not a stack trace in a dashboard; it is somebody's living room light on at three in the morning. That is the part of the job that makes it worth doing carefully, and it is the part we will teach you. We are open to your first role. If you have written embedded C for a college project, burned firmware onto an ESP32 or an Arduino, and can explain what you were trying to make happen, that is enough to talk to us. What we cannot teach quickly is the willingness to sit with a problem — to read the datasheet properly, to put a logic analyser on the line and find out what is actually on the wire rather than what you assumed. Where you work -------------- Remote most of the time, on site when the hardware needs you. Firmware is not a job that can be done entirely away from the board: bring-up, timing problems and anything involving an oscilloscope happen in the lab. In practice that has meant a few days in the Hyderabad office during a bring-up or a release, and remote the rest. We will be straight with you about which weeks those are, and we will not pretend the role is fully remote when it is not. What we offer ------------- A salary of ₹2–3 LPA depending on what you bring, real hardware to work on from your first week, and somebody experienced reviewing your code rather than leaving you to guess. We would rather hire somebody early and teach them our way of working than hire somebody who has already learned somebody else's.
